Please come by City Hall and talk with our Building Inspector before you decide to tackle a “do-it-yourself” project or hire a contractor to do the job for you.  A visit with the Building Inspector may keep you from violating a building code or city ordinance.  Any installations of concrete driveways, fences, carports, etc., on the street side of your property may require a visit to MUD #12 for an encroachment waiver. For an explanation of this procedure, the Building Inspector will assist you. The Building Inspector is available from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon., Monday through Thursday at City Hall. (409-935-8348)

In accordance with state law, and as a convenience to all parties, our Building Inspector has the ability to:

  • Accept permit applications
  • Collect required fees
  • Issue the required permits

By the following methods:

Note that the payment of the fee for a permit does not guarantee approval of the permit by the Building Inspector. The Building Inspector must approve the permit before any work can begin.
